Our History
From our humble beginnings inside my in-laws garage, D and C Extreme Ind.
has steadily matured into a full-fledged Scout customization firm.
D and C Extreme has a long, but unofficial history. It actually started
many years ago when two friends, named Damian and Chris made spare money
detailing cars. Slowly the dreams broadened and the duo began rebuilding,
restoring, and customizing Porschs. Sooner or later that also ended with
Damian going into the mission field and afterward getting married to his
bride Christy. Education was the goal for Damian and before that goal
got accomplished, Christy gave birth to a beautiful son named Matthew.
Months later, Chris got a hold of me (Damian) and talked me in taking
a semester off school to custom build and program a new electroplating
facility in Union City California. Out of state tuition at the University
of Colorado, Colorado Springs had taken its toll on my budding family
and we agreed to come out to work off some debt.
While in California, I visited Anything Scout in Palo Alto to see what
I could do to improve my 1970 Scout 800a. Later, Bill, the manager, asked
if I could weld a nice tire carrier for his tricked out Scout 800. I agreed
and soon I had a beautiful bumper mounted tire carrier for Bill's Scout.
As luck would have it, Bill talked me into producing the tire carrier
as an after-market manufacturer. And D and C was reborn - this time the
"C" stood for "Christy" - my wife.
Since those humble beginnings, D and C Extreme has become a full-fledged,
fully equipped 4WD-customization firm in Colorado Springs. We now offer
Winch bumpers, RockClimber Bumpers, Tire Carriers, Cages, Suspension mods
and anything else you can think of.
Chris Normile has moved to Colorado to rejoin the D and C team as our
project manager. His first project will be the outfit and construction
of our new shop as well as coordinate EXTREME Scout Buildup 2000's Project
3.
