Scout 80 & 800 Cage kits
Got
an 800? Need protection? Then you need one of our new 800 Cage Kits! For
years Scout 800 owners have had to scavange the country-side looking for
a stock roll bar in a desprate effort to get at least some protection
in the event of a roll over. Custom cages have always been expensive,
it seems that finding someone who has a mandral bender and won't charge
an arm and a leg for using it has been a difficult task. However, times
change.
D
and C Extreme is proud to be the first to offer a great solution to this
problem ~ we'd like to introduce you to our new 800 Cage Kits. The cage
kits comfortably install into any Scout 80 or Scout 800 built between
1961 through 1971. Like their Scout II brothers, these cage kits are built
to be shipped and assembled by the customer. What sets these works of
art apart from other so-called kits?
Form and Function
Again, we've taken our time and specifically designed these kits to
provide you with as much space and comfort as possible. Each tube is quality
Mild Steel bent to perfection with a true Hydraulic Mandrel bender (No
dangerous 'crushed' bends). We even designed them in a Scout to insure
a proper and snug fit. Will it fit in a Stock Scout ard top? OF COURSE!
We also take the time and pre-cut all the vital joints! Pre-cutting the
joints with a quality holesaw makes installation and welding a snap! Properly
adding frame extentions to our cage kits is easy since we extend the main
hoop all the way to the bed floor.
All
New From the Start
From the front section to the rear spreaders, our kits are brand new
~ we don't re-use used/fatigued stock roll bars. By making our main hoop
wider than a factory bar, we've literally increased the amount of head
room in the front section of the cage ~ and that means you're less likely
to bang your head during turbulent rides. We also extend our rear spreaders
to give the rear passengers additional (and much needed) protection.
Use
Your STUFF!
We have also gone to great lengths to make sure that all needed/useful
accessories are completely operational after the kits are installed. With
D and C's cage kits properly installed, you will have FULL use
of your window cranks, headlight switch, glovebox, parking brake pedal,
high-beam switch, and every other dash-mounted switch.
Materials make it stronger.
All cage kits are made from quality 2" x 1/8" (wall) Cold Rolled
Electric Welded (CREW) tube. We buy the tube in full 20' lengths and cut
each piece to precise measurements. We also offer 2" Drawn Over Mandrel
(DOM) tube for the safety and competition minded wheeler.
Options make our kits a better value.
Do you want your cage to offer you greater function? No problem. D and
C Extreme's Cage Kits have many different valuable options that will extend
the function of our cage kits. Options include:

CB Bars:
Offers mounting points for most CB radios, HAM radios, switches
and more! Also improves structural stiffness of the cage.
|
D and C's Signature ("Atari") Bars:
Offers additional side-to-side and front-to-back reinforcement
to the cage structure without compromising precious head room. Adds
nicely shaped lines to the cage. Also can be used for mounting surfaces
(similar to CB Bars)
|
Seat Belt Holes:
Tired of that old worn-out lap belt? Worried that a front
impact will cause you to eat your steering wheel or send your
passenger's head into the dash? No problem, with our seatbelt
holes, you can easily bolt any 3-point seatbelt right in. This
will not only protect you, but also your and friends.
Our seatbelt holes are actually sleeved with 3/4" DOM to
keep the cage from crushing.
|
Drawn Over Mandrel Tube:
Drawn Over Mandrel (DOM) tube is known for its superior strength.
If you don't want anything but the VERY best in materials, we'd
be happy to construct your cage out of some Certified DOM tube.
This tube is so strong, its a standard for most on and off-road
racing circuits (Note: its not usually required in most 4x4/RockCrawling
Competitions).
