Nerfbars? Side Steps? What is the difference?!? With the onslaught of SUV’s in the real world today we have seen the virtual slaughter of the common names for aftermarket accessories. Ask, for example, what a “nerfbar” is to the common SUV driver and they will most likely say "those steps on the side of my new 'xxxxxx'" - that is, if they know at all.
Although D and C’s Nerfbars were made of extremely heavy duty materials (over 3x the thickness of the mass produced version), D and C has stopped production on the old style round Nerfbars. Instead we have adopted “RockSliders”. RockSliders (r-o-k sly-de-ers) n. - (1) Purpose built, ultra low profile Nerfbars that sole purpose is protecting undercarriage and rocker panels from damage while driving. (2) New beverage made of rocks and water that is known for the harsh way it slides down your throat. Rock Sliders are built as short as possible so you don’t sacrifice your
precious ground clearance. They have smooth angles for easy function on
jagged surfaces. They are built tough, with at least 3/16” (.188”) steel
plate for durability and to resist denting. (Note: RockSliders made to stick out 18"from frame face) RockSliders are $250 (for Scout Terra/Traveller's - $325)
