Long Travel Spring Over Axle (SOA) Conversion

Over the past year D and C Extreme has become known for our Top-Notch suspension conversions. Yes D and C's custom suspension systems have completely bridged the gap from off-road only and your common daily driver ~ and so it is with our Spring Over Axle (SOA) conversions. Every SOA conversion is done right the first time. All our work is clean and strong, driving manners improve dramatically and the suspension flex is incredible (D and C Extreme took 1st place on the RTI for the Modified Class at RMIHR 2001).

THE BASIC SOA ~ $1000

D and C's Basic SOA is geared for the budget minded customers who want a great performing suspension job without compromising street manners. This conversion gives roughly 6" of lift and will comfortably fit any 33x12.50 tire. This is a complete Drive-in, Drive-out conversion. We take care of everything & all you do is drive it home.

This conversion includes:

  • All front axle work & grinding
  • Relocating axles under the springs
  • New Spring Perches
  • Correcting Pinion Angles
  • Correcting Front Axle Caster (5 degree of Caster)
  • Reinforced Z-style DragLink
  • Remount Stock Shocks (for maximized articulation)
  • Relocate Brake Lines
  • Lengthen Rear Driveline
  • Test Drive

Results? Besides retaining good driving manners, this lift yields 30-33" of wheel travel (flex is limited by shocks).


THE FULL SOA (a.k.a. The Full Monty) ~ $2650

Do you want the best SOA out there? Then this one's for you. The "Full Monty" SOA is geared for our customers that want uncompromising performance and ride both on and off-road. These are they guys (and gals) who want it right the first time. No more putting a check mark by one part of your suspension dreams - the Full Monty takes care of the entire suspension system ~ So put down your wish list and GO WHEELING!

This conversion gives roughly 7" of lift and will comfortably fit 33-34" tires without any other modification. 35-39" tires can be accommodated with the addition of lift springs or a body lift
(NOTE: axle upgrades are highly recommended for tire sizes over 36")

Results?

Beautiful ride on road and 33-40" of verticle wheel travel
and that's a wonderful thing!

 

 


Transportation

D and C Extreme understands that sometimes you live pretty far away and driving your rig here isn't always an option. We would love to help arrange transportation to our shop in Colorado Springs, CO but we are not responsible for it. We know that there are other shops that may be able to do this work but do you really want to gamble on them? We've heard all sorts of horror stories about shops who are "pretty sure" they could do this work and then take well over 4 months to do it, only to deliver your rig completely un-usable. (Several stories of owners who informed us that they couldn't turn right or drive over 35mph). As unfortunate as these stories may be, all we can say is that the technician performing this conversion needs to be completely competant in what this conversion entails to do it right.

If you are looking at having this conversion done and are out of our regional area - we ask you to make your decission wisely and take into account the extra headache and cost of a botched job. Paying a few hundred dollars to have your vehicle driven/shipped to us will pay for itself really quick over having to re-do the entire job.


Costs

Total cost for drive away conversion is $1000 (basic SOA) - 2650(Our Full SOA)
(Prices are assuming nothing on the rig is broken)

All prices include parts, labor and one year workmanship warrantee. All new parts carry manufacturer warrantee. D and C is not responsible for vehicle transportation. All work is done by D and C Extreme Ind. Conversion time is 2-3 days (basic SOA) and 5-10 days (Full SOA), without complications. Complications could include previously worn or broken components currently on the rig.

Common Upgrade NOT included in SOA Conversion
(BUT HIGHLY RECOMMENDED)

  • Kicker Shocks - controls axle wrap(add $320)
  • Lockers and new gears (call for size and price info)
  • Tires and Rims (call for size and price info)
